Weekend Project 2

This weekend we had some more work with our bead board. But this time we did not have any pre-framed pegboard for bead. We had a plane 2" by 4" rectangular pegboard and we downloaded designs from an iphone app 'Beads on Boards' (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/beads-on-boards-pattern-design/id558300851?mt=8).

I felt really good while helping for this particular one.As he was the one who discovered this was a piano and a very good way to teach them counting and designing.

Weekend Projects : 1

  I have a very active four year old who has lots of energy (like all other four year old). However, I do not have loads of ideas to channelize this huge source of energy. I do not like him to watch TV/laptop more than 30 minutes in a weekday. However for weekends I am little bit of lenient and 30 minutes can be relaxed to 1 hour. But what we will do through out the weekends, especially for the long weekends..this is often a subject of worry to me.
  I know that I sound little bit over concerned or you can say obsessive parenting. Truth is you want your kid to enjoy his weekend along with productive and to learn something. On last long weekend, we did our little project with our beads. I brought a bead project from http://www.michaels.com/. and we did beautiful art work with that. Here are the pictures of his art work.

The color choice was mine and he did it under my supervision. It was a very good project and we had a quite time with concentration. We both really enjoyed a lot.

We really had a lot of fun together.

Caution: Always work with bead under your supervision, and make sure they do not put in their mouth.

Mission for Mom

 Being a mom, the most challenging thing for me is to raise a good, compassionate and healthy child. I will not pray a lot of wealth or a big buck career for you but I will pray for him to be a compassionate person.
  This world has seen too many rich people but few good men are here. Recent man-made tragedies make us to rethink about the future of our next generation.
  For me, its easy to do PhD and work in my professional life. However it is very difficult to be a good mom. Especially for a working mother, one has so many loads of other stuff to do yet, you always feel a kind of guilty in your inner mind. I wipe off the guilt but its true I do happen to spend a lot less time with my kid than a stay-at-home mom. However within that very small time-frame, I leave a strong influence of my presence on him. I am the one who unknowingly teaching or showing him how he should be in future. My kid came to United States  at a very early age of him. The only persons he happens to live are his parents.... no grandparents. That is kind of sad for him because I feel grandparents and other family members play very important role in a kid's life. So we are the one at whom he seeks all the answers and happens to choose as role model even unknowingly.
  So this blog is a kind of the diary or sort of journal to pen down my mission to be a GOOD mom.
